The Tailgate Function Control Module with part numbers 7412610 (OEM BMW 61357412610) and 102135-10 is a factory electronic module that manages the automatic tailgate / boot lid operations for select BMW models. Functions may include the automatic lifting / lowering, locking/unlocking, latch control, strut motor actuation, sensor input (position, obstacle detection), and integration with vehicle body electronics.

This part is typically used or remanufactured. Before purchase or installation, verify the part number on your existing control module, check for damage (especially moisture ingress), ensure connector pin layout and wiring harness match, and confirm compatibility with your vehicle’s production year, model, and options. Some modules may require programming or coding to vehicle VIN or feature set for full functionality.

Check the tailgate type (electric lift / motorized) vs. manual – module only works with electric components.
Inspect for moisture damage; many tailgate modules fail due to water ingress.
After installing, coding may be needed so the vehicle’s body modules recognize the new unit.
Test all tailgate related functions (latch, sensors, struts) after replacement.
