Product Description

This is a genuine OEM Engine Control Module (ECM/ECU) for the Isuzu Elf / NKR / NPR medium-duty truck (4HL1-1 4×2 diesel) fitted with part number 8980177130 (also referenced as 8-98017713-0) and superseded by reference 1027-D390.

Designed for the 4HL1-series 4.8 L diesel engine, this unit manages fuel injection, turbo boost, engine sensors, diagnostics, and the vehicle’s engine management system. When your existing ECM fails or shows error codes, this unit is a direct replacement—subject to correct version matching and programming.

Used units are available from trusted sources, with the part number clearly listed and condition described as tested/used.

Compatibility / Notes Table

Important Buyer & Installation Notes

Ensure your original ECM has 8980177130 (or equivalent 8-98017713-0) and/or the superseded number 1027-D390.
Although the part number matches, you may still need to program or adapt the module to your vehicle’s VIN or immobiliser system. Many listings specify “programming is customer’s responsibility if required.”
When ordering a used unit, request photos of the label showing the part number, confirm the condition of the connectors and housing, and check for possible water damage given the engine bay location.
After installation, clear fault codes, verify sensor readings and engine behavior (idle, turbo response, diagnostics) to ensure correct operation.
