61.35-6964051 / 5WK49412GBF BMW CAS2 Access System / Comfort Control Module (E90 / E87)

Product Description

The CAS2 Access System / Comfort Control Module (BMW part number 6964051) is an OEM control unit responsible for managing vehicle access, key authentication, ignition enabling, and central locking in BMW models such as the E90 (3 Series) and E87 (1 Series). It functions as part of BMW’s Car Access System (CAS) architecture, linking the key / immobilizer, vehicle electronics, and security systems.

This module is typically sold in used / tested condition. When replacing, it’s critical to ensure the module matches your vehicle’s software variant, key / immobilizer data, and wiring harness. A module swap often requires cloning, programming or adaptation of key data (VIN, key codes, module linking) so that the car will recognize the new module and start.

One listing shows a 2006 BMW E90 325i with “CAS 2 Comfort Access Control Module 6964051” as a tested used part.
Another listing advertises “BMW E60 / E90 CAS2 Comfort Control Module CAS 2 6964051” with programming / cloning options.
Also, a parts site lists “E90 / E87 Access System Control Module 6964051” as a replacement part.

Compatibility / Notes Table

BMW Model / Series	Years / Range	Notes / Application	Part Number / Variant	Comments
BMW 3 Series	E90	~2005 – ~2012	CAS2 6964051	CAS2 module used in many E90 models for key / access control
BMW 1 Series	E87	~2004 – ~2011	CAS2 6964051	Some E87 models share CAS2 architecture compatible with 6964051
BMW 5 / Other Models (shared CAS2 era)	E60 / etc.	overlapping years	6964051	The same module number is also used in cross-listings for E60 / E90 combinations

Important Notes & Considerations

Even if the part number matches, the software / firmware version, vehicle order (VO) coding, and key / immobilizer data must match or be adapted; otherwise the car may not recognize the module.
Cloning or programming is often required. Many sellers state “cloning / programming available” for CAS modules.
The CAS module is part of the BMW security / access architecture. Faulty CAS modules may cause symptoms such as key not recognized, inability to start, or loss of remote locking.
Always check the module label for hardware version, serial number, and whether it’s “CAS2” or other CAS generation.
